NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS: Your postings on this public forum will become public. Your text will be available to anyone with an internet connection. Your words may end up quoted practically anywhere on the net.
The basic ground rules for discussions on The Trucker's Corner are simple:
A.) Be polite
B.) Use common sense
C.) Don't break the law
D.) Don't post any message that even hints at advertising
Memberships:
Each individual is permitted a maximum of one membership, active or inactive. If multiple memberships are necessary, such as the case where a husband and wife or others in a household desire to be active members, it is permissable to have more than one membership from one IP locale.
We only ask that each person please use their own membership when posting, and inform a moderator or adminstrator of the fact that there are more than one memberships needed, so that all of the staff are aware of the multiple memberships.
The Golden Rule:
We take the "Be Polite" rule very seriously! We do not tolerate any rudeness. Our goal here is to never ban a member who wants to participate in our forums, but please don't give us any reason to consider it. If you find yourself becoming angry, take a "time out" before you type and submit.
No derogatory names will be allowed be they directly or indirectly used.
No epithets of any nature will be allowed either.
Spam:
If you SPAM our members in any manner, your membership will be terminated. Do not contact any member of this forum, via our private message function, to suggest any product or service, who is not explicitly expecting you to contact them. The criteria will be simple. If any member contacts us with a complaint, you're outta here. Member requests for assistance or advice will be exempted from this rule.
Signature Spam (a post that is made in hopes of others linking to a for-profit web venture) is forbidden in all forum categories. Links to non-profit web ventures in signatures will be allowed, as long as they are not objectionable in nature by most people. This rule is absolute and it makes no difference who owns it. If anyone has good reason to appeal for an exemption to this rule, it will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact any moderator or adminstrator with your request. It will be discussed and you will be notified as soon as possible with a ruling of permission or denial.
Language Policy:
All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. This includes posts, titles, signatures, and any attachments or other forms of public display.
Links Policy:
Links will be allowed to be posted in any and all posts, as long as they are topical and are placed there to augment the subject of the post. Off-topic links will be removed as soon as they are found by moderators or administrators.
You may not link, in any manner, to sites containing sexually explicit imagery or multimedia, or those containing gross violence. If the link you are considering placing in our forum is to imagery or media that is hosted on any well known site that is widely recognized for hosting such material, and it has passed their criteria, then it is permissable to link to it.
Illegal Activity Notice:
No request or nicety here. DO NOT use this forum to commit or solicit illegal activity of any kind. Any posting that even comes close to being suspected as illegal in nature, as may be determined by any moderator or adminstrator, will result in it's immediate removal and your membership will be terminated without question or consideration.
Our Censoring policy:
We encourage candid, open exchanges of views at all times. While we feel expressing your views and points absent of any profanity is always the better course to take when you type, we will refrain from editing your posts or raising any issue over one's use of wording, UNLESS such profanity constitutes the majority of your post. We are requesting, but not demanding that you limit the use of coarse language selections as much as possible. We understand that there are times that a substitution just won't fill the bill.
Please however, do not direct such words at any member of this forum. Remember...rudeness towards any other member will not be allowed.
Endorsement Policy:
Opinions, advice and all other information expressed by members in discussions are those of the individual member. You rely on such information at your own risk. You are urged to seek professional advice for specific, individual situations and not rely solely on advice or opinions given in the discussions.
Private Messaging:
The private message function at The Trucker's Corner is indeed private, to the extent that no member of management of The Trucker's Corner may view any portion of any private message you exchange with other members, unless they are a party to a message.
We are not aware however, who may be viewing your messages outside of our membership and management. Those logs and records are kept on outside servers, and by the forum host, which is Forumsland.
While we are not snooping on your activity when you use the private message function contained within the forum, be aware and cautioned that if your communication need be totally private and protected, it may be wiser to exchange those messages through your own off-site e-mail accounts.
Passwords:
We request that you use unique passwords for this site. Using repetitive passwords is more convenient, but it increases the chance that someone could use your membership fraudulently, especially if you participate in other forums. The more characters, the better.
We encourage you to use the auto-login feature, that is if you use a computer you own and is not shared with others where a lack of trust is an issue.
If you have trouble keeping up with passwords, there is a free encrypted password storage program available for individual users. You can find it at the Passkeeper Website.
Privacy Policy:
This forum is hosted by an outside server and entity. No member of the management of The Trucker's Forum has access to any private information of any member who joins this forums setting, other than to the member's ISP provider, the specific IP address, and the information you provide when you sign up as a member. We will not release any member information unless demanded under court order to do so.
Your posts in the public area of the forums are not private. They can be read at any time by anyone who connects to the forum site. They can be copied. They can be posted elsewhere by anyone in quotation form. The words contained within them can be plagerized by others.
The Trucker's Corner cannot protect your writings in any manner, nor do we claim ownership rights of your posts. You are free to delete any of your posts at any time while your membership is active. We do however, retain the right to leave posts offered by you publicly displayed for as long as we desire to do so, upon termination of your membership, regardless of any reason or cause for your membership termination.
Legal Disclaimers:
We reserve the right to modify and amend these terms at any time and without notice.
We reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts at our discretion and without explanation.
It is your responsibility to remain informed of current Trucker's Corner policies.
We further, reserve our right to disable any account at any time for any reason and without notice.
If there are any rules or policies you do not understand, please contact an administrator for any clarification you are seeking.
Finally; any abuse towards any other member, our staff, and/or management in any form, may result in immediate suspension of your membership.
